What is a Cross-Chain Swap?

A cross-chain swap enables the exchange of cryptocurrencies between different blockchain networks, including both layer 1 and layer 2 structures, without relying on a centralized intermediary. This technology supports direct and secure transactions, improving interoperability and liquidity across a variety of cryptocurrency ecosystems.

How Does This Cross-Chain App Work?

The StacksOnChain Swap integrates Stargate Finance to enhance the user experience by enabling efficient direct swaps of native assets across various blockchains. Utilizing Stargate’s advanced technology based on LayerZero, this application offers an easy user interface that facilitates  transactions across multiple blockchain networks. This integration boosts both interoperability and liquidity, allowing users to perform asset swaps in a single, secure, and efficient transaction.

While StacksOnChain provides a frontend to access these cross-chain swap features via Stargate's platform, it's important to note that we do not directly handle these transfers nor are we responsible for any possible losses that may occur during the transactions.

What are the Fees?

Transactions handled through the Stargate protocol, not utilizing STG, incur a fee of 6 basis points (0.06%). The fee distribution is as follows: 4 basis points are allocated to the Protocol Treasury, 1 basis point to veSTG holders, and the remaining 1 basis point to Liquidity Providers. Should the source pool of a transfer generate emissions, those fees are redirected back to the protocol. This fee structure was established through a community vote under the SIP: Value Accrual for STG Stakers initiative.
